Advantage Valley is an economic development organization that markets the Huntington/Ashland/Ironton and Charleston, WV metropolitan statistical areas.
Twelve counties are included: Kanawha, Putnam, Cabell, Boone, Clay,
Lincoln, Mason, and Wayne counties in West Virginia; Boyd, Carter, and Greenup counties in Kentucky; and Lawrence County, Ohio.
The population of the Charleston MSA is 250,000.
The population of the Huntington/Ashland/Ironton MSA is 316,000.
The two MSAs combined make the 71st largest MSA in the United States.
Almost one-fourth of West Virginia delegates represent the Advantage Valley region.
The region has several award-winning school districts.
West Virginia has the lowest crime rate in the nation.
